Finding inspiration

Though I have not yet gotten myself to the gym, I have begun the work of psyching myself up, which I desparately need. So, I'm pasting here some of the really cool quotes I came across yesterday. Some are about courage, some are about running. Feel free to add your own in the comments box. Enjoy!

1) We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world.
--
Helen Keller

2) If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream. --Martin Luther King, Jr.

3) One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.
--Maya Angelou

4) Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.
--Winston Churchill

5) A lot of people run a race to see who’s the fastest. I run to see who has the most guts.
-- Steve Prefontaine

6) Winning isn't always victory, losing isn't always defeat.
--Unkown

7) The pride you gain is worth the pain.
-- Dennis Ogilvie

8) GO THE DISTANCE!
--Unknown (though my guess is that it's from the movie Field Of Dreams)
